Dave’s Hot Chicken – Salem, OR

Salem’s Dave’s Hot Chicken is on Center Street NE, close to the heart of Oregon’s state capital. It’s a central spot if you’re downtown for state business, visiting the Capitol, or just passing through the Willamette Valley.

Salem runs later than most locations on this list — midnight closing even on weekdays, and 1 AM on weekends — which makes it one of the better late-night options if you’re craving hot chicken after a long day. The usual Hot Chicken Tender and Slider combos anchor the menu, with seven spice levels and the standard sides. Dine-in, ordering ahead or curbside through the app, or delivery are all available. If you’re ordering late, it’s worth checking the app first to confirm the kitchen is still taking orders near closing.

Salem Prices: No Sales Tax

Oregon has no sales tax, so in Salem the price on the menu is what you pay at the counter. Of all the stores we cover, this one gives you the lowest total for the same order. Based on the chain’s September 2026 starting prices:

• Dave’s #3 (1 Tender & 1 Slider w/ Fries): $16.09, no tax added
• Dave’s #1 (2 Tenders w/ Fries): $14.89, no tax added
• Single Tender: $4.99, no tax added
• #3 with a regular fountain drink: $19.18

The store can still set its own prices, and delivery apps usually mark items up and add fees on top, so ordering pickup through the Dave’s app is the cheapest way to get the same food.
